Scope of services
A good online shop sells even when your business is closed. For that to work, buying has to be easy: find products quickly, pay securely, order without detours. We plan your shop around your product range and your processes. We connect payment, shipping and stock so that you have as little as possible to do by hand.
We first clarify what you sell and to whom.
We plan the journey from product to order confirmation for mobile first.
Before launch, we check what is often forgotten with shops in Austria.
After launch, we take care of what comes up day to day.
Focus areas
Shopify
Shopify takes care of servers, security updates and payment processing. For a young brand, this is often a sensible start. For Merchflix, we planned the shop together with the founder, from the product presentation to the checkout. The focus was on usability on mobile phones.
We are open about the downside: many functions come via apps with their own subscription. Shopify decides how far the checkout can be customised. You can export products and orders, but the platform itself remains rented.
)
Headless
With a headless shop, Shopify manages products, orders and payments. We develop the pages your customers see as a separate website with Next.js. This gives freedom in design and loading time.
This makes sense when the shop is part of a content-rich website, several languages come together or the design cannot be achieved with templates. It takes more development. Some Shopify apps also only work in standard themes. That is why we advise against it for most small shops.

Checkout
If you only sell a few offers, you do not need a basket or stock management. We build the payment process directly into the website. Stripe handles the payment by card, Klarna or EPS. This is how VÖPP members book seminars and training courses.
Sometimes nothing new is needed at all. For TopMoves, we integrated the dance studio's existing booking solution into the new website instead of replacing it. If the product range grows, a proper shop will at some point be the better choice.

Our recommendation is rarely the name of a system. It follows from your product range, your target group and the honest answer to the question of who looks after the shop after launch.

This is how we create a shop that fits your products and processes.
We look at what you sell and to whom.
We record items and variants, clarify prices for business customers and check any existing inventory management or accounting. After that, we know which system and which extensions you need.
OutcomeA recommendation for the system and integrations
We define payment methods, shipping and tax.
We check that the invoices contain the mandatory details under § 11 UStG and that the shop knows the tax rates for deliveries to other EU countries. With your shipping provider, we clarify how the labels come directly from the shop.
OutcomeA plan for payment, shipping and tax
We design product pages and checkout for mobile first.
You go through the entire journey from product to order confirmation, including with the keyboard. Whatever snags, we change before development begins.
OutcomeAn approved checkout journey
We build the shop and import the products.
We migrate existing products, customers and orders. Old product addresses get redirects. Before launch, we run test orders with every payment method.
OutcomeA tested shop ready for sign-off
After launch, we support the shop day to day.
We install updates and step in when a payment gets stuck. In the reports, we see where customers abandon their purchase. That is where we improve first.
OutcomeA shop that runs day to day
Technologies
From a hosted shop to your own checkout: depending on product range and support.
That depends on your product range, processes and budget. We rely on established shop systems or a headless solution and clarify in the initial consultation what suits you best.
In many cases, yes. We transfer products, customer data and orders to the new system so that you can keep selling without interruption.
We do, if you wish. We take care of maintenance, updates and further development on an ongoing basis, with one dedicated point of contact.
A shop on its own is rarely funded. However, some programmes support digitalisation projects that include a shop, for example with a connection to inventory management or accounting. We check with you what is currently possible.
Usually not. For a few offers, an order or booking page with a Stripe checkout is often enough. A full shop is worthwhile when a larger product range, stock or shipping come into play.
Card payment and EPS, the Austrian online bank transfer, are a good basis. Whether Klarna or PayPal are added depends on your customers. Every payment method incurs fees, so we choose carefully.
Since 28 June 2025, it has applied to online shops that sell to consumers. Micro-enterprises are exempt, meaning businesses with fewer than ten employees whose turnover or balance sheet total is below a statutory limit. We still plan the checkout journey to be accessible, so that your shop is ready when you grow.
